“Sunset on Louisiana” offers an optimistic look to the future, beaming with hope and curiosity. Jonathan wrote this song nearing the end of a decade living in New Orleans. Reflecting on the entirety of his experiences, Bauer wanted to find a way to describe how important this period was to them, as well as how prepared they are for their future. To aurally capture the beauty of a sunset on Louisiana, while turning a new page as the sun set on Louisiana.

1 2 3, in 2 3. With those first two chords from London’s own Liam Dunachie on the piano, the tone is set for our story to unfold. Bauer’s soft and vulnerable approach to the melody brings the listener in and warms them to their core. Dunachie maintains a thoughtful approach to interacting with the melody. Huw V. Williams brings us right down for a masterful bass solo. Thoughtfully and with purpose, Jonathan and Liam then increasingly bring up the energy until we’re into a full swing. The sounds of joy and hope cascade through their solos. Along with grounded work from Joshua Walker-Martin on drums, the band demands your ears and paints you a “Sunset on Louisiana.”
